Our story

From innovation centre to independent technology company

You may remember CENSIS as Scotland's Innovation Centre for sensing, imaging and IoT. Here is how we got from there to where we are today.

For more than a decade, CENSIS worked alongside Scottish academia, industry and the public sector to take sensing, imaging and IoT technologies from idea to real-world use. We supported hundreds of organisations, ran various projects across health, infrastructure and energy, and built deep capability in the practical delivery of digital technology.

CENSIS now operates through CENSIS Technology Solutions Ltd (CTS) — the independent operating vehicle for the next phase of CENSIS’ technology delivery, with roots in the University of Glasgow-hosted innovation centre.

Today we are a smaller, deliberate team. We are building CareSurround as our lead product, supporting an existing IoT estate, and partnering on a small number of opportunities where we can add real capability and value.

We continue to support deployments built during the innovation-centre years, including CENTINEL energy monitoring.
