University of Glasgow, 29 June – 2 July 2015
Complimentary Workshop Places available (29 June)
Conference
The IEEE PRIME (PhD Research In Microelectronics and Electronics) Conference reflects the wide spectrum of research topics in microelectronics and electronics. The benefits in attending IEEE PRIME 2015 are in:
- Sharing and debating experiences and challenges in adopting new technologies
- Discussing the challenges of moving research to commercialisation
- Understanding research across Europe that is relevant to your business
- Identifying potential engineers to address skills shortages
- Discussing challenges for researchers and other businesses
Workshop: Technology Adoption within Complex and Volatile Global Markets
This full day event focuses on technology adoption around the areas of mobile health and sustainable future cities. Led by speakers from industry, and with a Chaired Q&A panel at the end of each session, there will be four exploration areas:
- Policy: How can policy makers increase the speed of technology adoption? To what extent do standards or lack of standards slow the pace of deploying new technologies?
- Interoperability: The challenges in creating autonomous systems, ubiquitous sensing in real-time systems, and differing local resources, sensing or environmental needs.
- Human Machine Interaction: How can R&D more holistically consider the social aspects and user adoption concerns from new technologies, e.g., remote piloted aircraft, autonomous vehicles or robotics.
- Business & Market Challenges: The commercial challenges of exploiting high quality research to achieve impact for SMEs and large companies, including case studies.
Complimentary Workshop Places
The IEEE PRIME Organising Committee is offering a limited number of complimentary places at the workshop aimed at recent undergraduates, current postgraduate or postdoctoral students, and industry interested in innovation within the HEI sector.
Please contact CENSIS to register for your free place, using the subject line ‘IEEE PRIME’ and providing your name, address, contact telephone number and email address. The closing date to apply for these places is Friday 26 June at 12.00pm.
Company Fair
Finally, the PRIME Company Fair running alongside the conference gives industry an opportunity to connect with candidates interested in a career in the area of electronics.
Conference Registration
Costs vary for the full three-day conference, which includes attendance at the workshop. Please register via the PRIME website.
