5G Worldwide Summits
The IEEE Communications Society is organising a series of global high impact one day Summits in a range of technology areas including 5G, IoT, big data and cybersecurity.
The first IEEE 5G Summit was held at Princeton University in May 2015, and has been followed by a global series of follow-on events.
Glasgow Event
This one day summit will provide a platform for attendees from industry, academia, and government office and agencies to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology. The objectives of the Glasgow event are to provide a platform to educate, integrate and elucidate the various communities to support the evolution of standards and systems leading to the rapid deployment of new technologies and potentially new business models for 5G.
The 5G Summit will be hosted by University of Strathclyde in the Technology Innovation Centre. The University is actively working in the areas of 5G, IoT, Dynamic Spectrum Access, SDR and TVWS and was recently awarded a UK DCMS government grant for the £7.3m 5G RuralFirst project led by Cisco and partners including the University of Strathclyde, Cisco and CENSIS.
