CENSIS has joined forces with thousands of volunteers across the UK by using its 3D printers to help make face shields for healthcare staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 3DCrowd UK group, started by a palliative care doctor, now has over 8,000 members, all making equipment destined for the NHS. New volunteers are still welcome.

Thousands of 3D-printed masks have already been made by the group and donated to hospitals and front line medical workers including pharmacies and paramedics.

Engineers at CENSIS have been using our in house equipment to produce headbands for full face masks, by following instructions provided by 3DCrowdUK. Once printed, the headbands produced by CENSIS and other volunteers are forwarded to a central hub to be assembled and a face shield attached.
