View current eventsPut the kettle on and join CENSIS for a catch up over a virtual coffee and connect with other companies, researchers and stakeholders working in the same space.
Led by CENSIS Business Development Manager Cade Wells, this coffee break will look at remote sensing for environmental monitoring applications.
Remote sensing is used in a range of applications for environmental planning and management; from monitoring coastlines and large bodies of water, to hazard assessments and natural resource management, measuring sea temperatures to forest growth, monitoring the impacts of natural disasters, or remotely tracking wildlife to prevent poaching.
We’ll be looking at all the different available sensor systems and IoT technologies on drones, piloted aircraft and satellites that can be used to support the planning and management of land and water, and its resources.
We don’t prescribe what we’ll talk about on the day; the discussion will be controlled by you and what you want to talk about, but examples might include:
- Sensors in extreme environments
- Edge and cloud-based data processing, analysis and interpretation
- Data fusion with differing sources of real-time and historical IoT-gathered data
- Addressing multiple sector use cases from collected imaging data sets
- Management and reliable operation of hardware-based data gathering platforms
The chat takes place online using Zoom. Just contact us by email if you’re interested and we’ll send you details of how to join in. You can join using audio or video, and we encourage you to join in the conversation to give your thoughts or ask questions.
