Sharing ideas and exploring the many paths leading towards a more sustainable future will become increasingly urgent as the world wakes up to the fact that climate change is real – and that collaboration and co-operation are required to tackle it.

The urgency of the crisis comes under the microscope next month’s at Scotland’s Countdown to COP26, an online conference organised by Scotland’s Innovation Centres in partnership with the Herald. Chaired by Martin Valenti, Head of Climate Enterprise at Scottish Enterprise,  the conference includes presentations from economist and author of Doughnut Economics, Kate Raworth and Peter Lacy, Europe Lead for Accenture Strategy; and is supported by several themed parallel sessions, presentations, panel discussions, Q&As, networking, and virtual exhibitions. Each session will explore the many opportunities COP26 will present for Scotland to take action and create a prosperous and greener world. CENSIS is delighted to a session on the day around transport.

Work with us in 2021

Scotland’s Countdown to COP26 will be a timely starting point for a year of debate and activities that aim to create and deliver transformational collaboration and climate change programmes across multiple sectors within Scotland and beyond.

If your organisation is interested in collaborating with the Innovation Centres on activities in 2021, please get in touch and complete our form to tell us what you’d like to do and who you’d like to work with.

Our objective from 3 November is to create new collaborations that embrace innovation, deliver inclusive economic growth and tackle culture change to enable the achievement of national net zero targets. While Scotland’s Countdown to COP26 is a significant virtual event on its own, we’ve been very deliberate in our planning that this not be a standalone conference but a launch point for a year of follow-on activities.

The Innovation Centres welcome engagement from all interested organisations, companies and groups who could join in as delegates on 3 November 2020 and then partner with the Innovation Centres to deliver a programme of events throughout 2021. Currently we are gathering information from interested parties to help us plan activities.
