Marking 10 years of Scottish innovation
Join us for a special networking dinner in the spectacular surroundings of the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow’s Merchant City to mark a decade of sensing, imaging and Internet of Things innovation, connection and collaboration in Scotland.
- Drinks on arrival, three-course meal with wine, plus after-dinner entertainment
- Dress code: smart/business attire. Formal dress (evening gown/black tie/kilt) is optional
- 6:30pm till late
We hope this evening will be a welcome opportunity for our network to come together to celebrate the successes and resilience of our community, catch up with current contacts, make new connections and perhaps even begin to plan new activities within the sensing, imaging and IoT ecosystem.

The evening’s host
Lead presenter of BBC’s Landward and founder member of 80s and 90s pop rock band Deacon Blue, Dougie Vipond, will be our host for the evening.
Dougie is a well known broadcaster and has reported for Scotland Today as a music and arts correspondent, hosts the BBC’s Adventure Show, has been both anchor and reporter for BBC Scotland’s Sportscene and Reporting Scotland, and has worked as a reporter for Grandstand.
Our after-dinner speaker
Business leader turned comedian Cally Beaton will be our after-dinner speaker. Cally has held senior management positions at some of the biggest media companies in the world, including Senior Vice President at US studio giant ViacomCBS. There, she oversaw multi-million dollar budgets for brands including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount and says if you want someone to blame for bringing South Park and Spongebob Squarepants to the world, you need look no further.
Cally first took to the stage as a forty-five-year-old single parent and quickly cemented her position as one of the most exciting and distinctive new stand-ups in the country. She regularly appears on TV and radio, has her own podcast and has written for The Guardian and the Financial Times. A natural storyteller, she brings humour and energy to workplace insights ranging from how to foster a creative, positive environment to how to inspire and lead through change.
Entertainment
Our evening’s entertainment comes Nicole Smit and her band playing old school R&B and blues.
