CENSIS CEO Paul Winstanley has taken up the post of Chair of the Board of Filament STAC, the Smart Things Accelerator Centre.
Co-founding STAC with STAC CEO Paul Wilson and STAC COO Gregor Aikman, whilst CEO of CENSIS, Paul’s passion and drive fuel his commitment to driving innovation and growth in Scotland’s tech landscape.
Paul is known for driving innovation across academia, government, startups, SMEs, and global corporations. With a background in UK MoD, Paul has a proven track record of success. As the inaugural Executive Director of Innovation and Investment at the UK Defence Solutions Centre, Paul has consistently demonstrated his ability to spearhead digital solutions across various sectors, specialising in the most regulated markets. His expertise lies in leadership, international P&L management, fundraising, and technology commercialisation. Paul serves on the boards of South of Scotland Enterprise and the EPSRC’s Science Engineering and Technology Board, where he pioneers cutting-edge research initiatives.

STAC currently supports 52 Scottish startups focused on smart things and IoT with a unique company building programme that positions startups to compete in an international market place.
