The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has awarded a grant of over three millions pounds to a consortium of partners – including CENSIS – to conduct research and investigate application areas in the emerging and important field of sustainable electronics.

Led by the University of Glasgow, the programme formally known ANALOGUE – Automated Nano AnaLysing, characterisatiOn and additive packaGing sUitE – will be delivered with a strategic network of partners from industry, national semiconductor facilities, and academia. The goal will be to fast track disruptive new technologies into applications.

Beginning in March 2024 and running for three years, ANALOGUE will enable the development of a wide range of semiconductor devices that are applicable to sustainable and biodegradable sensors, biomedical implants and quantum computing interfaces. The programme will also provide support for ongoing efforts to decarbonise the electronics supply chain.

In 2023, CENSIS planned and delivered a workshop on sustainable electronics that included a delegates from academia, industry and public/third sector organisations. The workshop aimed to generate partnerships able to secure future grant funding, identify other research, and generate business development opportunities and activities.
