CENSIS has bolstered its engineering and business development teams with the appointment of Michael Fletcher as its new Business Development Director, plus two experienced engineers.
Michael joins CENSIS from QuantIC, the UK Quantum Technology Hub in quantum enhanced imaging, where he was responsible for business development, including the support and facilitation of academic-industrial collaborations. He has had an extensive and varied career spanning 25 years across public and private sector organisations. Among a diverse set of high-profile projects, he worked on the privatisation of the National Engineering Laboratory in 1995.
Joining Michael at CENSIS are engineers Steven Bremner and Sean Farrelly.
Steven is an electronics design engineer with more than two decades’ experience across a wide range of sectors, including medical devices, telecommunications, and oil and gas.
Sean joins CENSIS for a software consultancy project. Previously a Lead Applications Engineer at NXP Semiconductors, he has worked with organisations across the globe, from the USA to India.
Michael said: “The Scottish technology sector is in an exciting place – there are a range of start-ups and larger organisations with ambitious ideas to develop and commercialise new technologies. As CENSIS embarks on its second phase of funding with a renewed focus, I’m looking forward to working across the public and private sectors to take technology from idea to fully-realised product, helping businesses and the industry as a whole to grow.”
CENSIS CEO Paul Winstanley, added: “Michael brings with him a breadth of experience, which will undoubtedly prove a real asset to our team – his knowledge of such a wide range of organisations will benefit the companies CENSIS supports and nurtures. Sean and Steven’s experience also adds a variety of new technical skills to our existing engineering team, which will be invaluable. This new expertise within CENSIS underlines our commitment to brokering strong partnerships between the academic and commercial worlds, backed by industry-experienced technical expertise.”
