Explore the Internet of Things

The term “Internet of Things” has been used over the last decade to describe the interconnection of physical objects via the Internet.

This guest presentation from CENSIS Business Development Manager, Dr Cade Wells, will explore the emergence of IoT and the recent convergence in technologies that has brought about new capabilities in the gathering of data to realise useful information.

Along with the new opportunities IoT brings, the highly interconnect nature of IoT creates challenges which are driving debate around safety, security, resilience and privacy. Cade will discuss these challenges, present a live IoT demonstration and answer the question of “what’s next for IoT?”

No registration needed

All of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) talks are free  and anyone can attend. You do not have to be a member or register in advance; just turn up on the night.

Further details

The presentation will begin at 7:00pm in one of the function suites at the Kingsmills Hotel (they will put signs at the entrance, or just ask the hotel staff). It will last for about 45 minutes and afterwards refreshments are served with a chance to ask Cade some questions or network.
