View current eventsJoin CENSIS for a catch up over a virtual coffee and connect with companies, researchers, and stakeholders with an interest in the same space.
There is no fixed agenda for any of our virtual coffees, and we aim for a forum that is open, friendly and encourages conversation. The direction of the discussion always follows whatever people on the call want to talk about, and the conversations are never recorded.
Led by CENSIS’s Business Development Manager Natalia Lukaszewicz, this coffee break will explore how successful organisations think about and engineer systems. Natalia will be joined in this discussion by Prof Tim Kerby, founder of the Systems Engineering consultancy Edinburgh Systems and Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in Systems Engineering at Heriot-Watt University.
Potential topics for discussion might include:
- using systems engineering and requirements management for product development
- how a systems mindset is critical for safety and cybersecurity
- why systems thinking is a core engineering skill
- approaches to introducing systems leadership in your organisation
- finding systems engineers: retraining, graduates, and consultancy
- applications across wider societal change including net-zero and circular economy challenges
- balancing agility and formality in engineering processes and lifecycles
