Centre calls for ideas to unlock potential in UK North Sea
The Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) is an industry-led research and knowledge organisation, backed by £180M investment from both the UK and Scottish governments. The Centre funds projects that help to unlock the full potential of the UK North Sea.
First Call for Ideas
On 1 May 2017, OGTC launches its first ‘Call for Ideas’ inviting ideas to transform the way that offshore hydrocarbon wells are plugged and abandoned. Up to £1M could be invested in portfolio of projects that result from the call. Innovative concepts around three specific themes are welcomed:
- modelling the probability of hydrocarbon flow to surface;
- verification of permanent barriers; and
- new and alternative methodologies and barriers.
Submissions are welcome 1 May-11 June via the OGTC website, where full technical details and an of overview of the process will be available.
